Welsh Government sends 13,000 coronavirus shielding letters to wrong addresses

In a dangerous mistake, the Welsh Government have sent 13,000 out of 80,000 coronavirus shielding letters intended for the most vulnerable in Wales to the wrong addresses.

The letters, which are already 13 days late from the Welsh Government's original 3rd April deadline, advise those with serious underlying health conditions to stay at home for 12 weeks to 'shield' themselves from COVID-19.

The letters would also mean that recipients would qualify for essential priority delivery slots from supermarkets.

A Welsh Government spokesperson stated that over 16% of the letters have been sent to the wrong addresses "due to a processing error within the NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS)."

They further stated that "all letters have since been reissued to the correct addresses."

Welsh Health Minister, Vaughan Gething confirmed that all letters had now been re-sent.

The Welsh Government can't even send a letter, how can they run a country?
